I met an old "mate" today, who for a living , turns up at one of the local government offices nearby. He tells me he is on the sick with , you've guessed it .........STRESS!.
He had just emerged from a pub, and was on his way to book a holiday. I give him a full blast of my honest opinion of his scrounging and left him a bit speechless. Enough of this surely. It has to be time for these pampered feather bedded individuals to live with the same uncertainties as those living and working in the real world.
But who is to say "BOO" to these untouchables? Bloody hell , I visited East Germany in the very late eighties, and this country is increasingly resembling that shambling monolith.
I would propose, to start with:- ALL Public sector workers to have:-
A salary cap for two years for all staff on £15k or under.
A 5% reduction for all staff on £15k to £25K.
A 10% reduction for all staff on £25k to £35k
A 20% reduction for all staff on £35K +
Situation to be reviewed after two years.
No exceptions. Alternative employment may be sought in the real world of course by those unhappy with these terms, and for those for whom this is not possible, well they have the sureity of keeping their jobs. These type of reductions, or greater, have been routinely imposed on the real world recently and it is time for the servants of the state to start behaving as if that is what they were, and not instead some sacred elite.
